The Barley Hill House Management Committee is formed from residents who live within the block and concerned parties who own parking spaces in the garage area. There is no block Caretaker. None of the committee members are paid or rewarded for any work done; all is done on a voluntary basis. All residents are eligible to become committee members, who are elected at the Annual General Meeting, notification of which is given to all residents.
Routine maintenance and cosmetic improvements form part of the remit of the committee, some of which is carried out by contractors or Committee members, however they remain the responsibility of the whole block, as management fee funds barely cover block legal fees, fire regulation costs and any emergency structural repairs. Volunteers for block painting, tiling etc are always welcome.
Barley Hill House is a small block, which can be a real community. We should work together to preserve the block, thereby keeping service charges to a minimum, and keep a harmonious atmosphere in which to live.
